Vinification: Grapes of late harvest are gently crushed, fermentation takes months and proceeds in two stages: first by wild yeasts, then - by employing pure yeast cultures, ensuring a successful finish. 2 years of barrel aging. During the first 4-6 months it is aged in new, later in 1-3 years old barrels made of Armenian (Artsakh) oak wood.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby-red in color. Aroma of ripe black plum, black forest berries, and pomegranates. Spicy with notes of black pepper and dried herbs. Medium acidity gives a lively character. Smooth tanning linger the palate. The wine is full-bodied with long finish of dark berry flavours.
Food Pairing: Roast duck or game, grilled lamb and mushrooms, medium steaks, Armenian barbeque and lahmajunas well as Aged hard cheeses.
